Essay about Spanish Armada - 1365 Words
During the age of exploration, the great European nations fought amongst themselves for their share of the new world. There were constant battles over the lands of the Americas and Africa. The two main religions of Europe were trying to spread its reach to new parts of the world and each had countries pushing each religion as much as they could. The Anglo-Spanish War between England and Spain during 1585-1604 is a great example of this, although it was never official declared a war. One thing that made this war quite note worthy was the Spanish Armada, a fleet of 130-armed ship versus the well-trained navy of England. It is possible the world most famous naval battle and showed the true strength of England. This was a backfire on the church because his ideas spread even more because of how the church condemned him. His ideas found a home in Germanyââ¬â¢s many different regions. The change of Europe came like a hurricane; the church was not ready for this to take hold. Countries like Sweden, Switzerland, Hungry embraced this new type of Christianity (Greer, Lewis 400-335). Germany ran with new religion as a way to gain back power in Europe and break the hold that the church and the other European countries had on them (Spitz 59-192). The church lost its power in many different part of Europe, even King Henry the 8th who at the beginning of the revolution condemned Lutherââ¬â¢s attacks at the church, eventually turned his own state to Protestant and named himself head, through the Act of Supremacy in 1536 (Spitz 236ââ¬â283). Englandââ¬â¢s change to Protestant religion is one of the main causes of the Anglo-Spanish War. King Henry the 8th constant changes in wives caused many to have a legit claim to the English throne. There was civil war in England between the Catholics and the Protestants. The C atholic tried to place Mary, King Henry 8th first daughter to the throne and was successful (Spitz 236-283). Finding A Balance - 843 Words
2 FINDING A BALANCE Finding a Balance: Europa Universalis IV In many ways, Europa Universalis 4 is less of a game about history, and more of a game about understanding history. In this game, you play as any nation from 1444 until 1821, from the dawn of the fall of the Western Roman Empire until the death of Napoleon, and your goals as a state are only limited by your imagination and skill. Accomplishing a world conquest is completely within the realm of possibility for a skilled player, or you could be the type of player who simply wants to form Germany or unite the Holy Roman Empire. The player can begin the game at any date during the period which the game takes place, with the map of the world being representative of the actual world at that time, but players will often find that their games do not come close to this accuracy even when the player has nothing to do with it. Because every nation is played by an AI just as long as you have been playing your nation, sometimes variation happens. From personal experience, I have seen Venice control almost all of Greece when I was playing an Asian country. It is this variation which gives the game excitement; if I knew how the game would progress every single time, I would play one game and never play again. On one hand, you have a serious, historical simulation of the world and how it progressed, and on the other hand you have a game where Ulm, a German minor, can take over the entire European continent within several hundredShow MoreRelatedShenzhen Filtroil: Finding Balance6327 Words à |à 26 PagesManaging People Organisations Assignment: Shenzhen Filtroil: Finding Balance Word count: 4817 November 2010 Content Executive Summary 3 Introduction Methodology of Research 4 Part I. Information Systems in a New Hospital Samples â⬠MyAssignmenthelp.com
Question: Discuss about the Information Systems in a New Hospital. Answer: Introduction A new hospital is planning to be built in Adelaide of South Australia. The aim of the hospital is to use advanced information system for improving the operational effectiveness of the hospital. It also aims to take good care of the customers and patients (Cohen, Coleman Kangethe, 2016). The SA Health directors would also prefer the deployment of robotics, finance systems and patient record systems to be of the most innovative technology. Many of the hospitals in Adelaide have outdated information system. This report suggests the types of information system that can be used by the new hospital to achieve its efficiency level. Discussion Several information systems are available for the purpose of increasing the efficiency of the operations in the hospital (Laudon Laudon, 2016). MYOB or Xero accounting software can be used for the purpose recording financial data and handle the payroll system. Xero software can be used for the purpose of hand ling financial data (Mageto, 2017). Payment procedures will be made simple. Then there is another aspect of this system that is it helps to follow up any types of payment. Cliniko is a type of management information system that will help the new hospital to help in scheduling and managing the treatment notes as well. Cliniko is the best solution for all types of businesses whether single practitioner or huge team (Cliniko.com, 2017). Cliniko and Xero can be combined to get a perfect result. The new hospital can make use of the decision support system that will help them to take crucial decisions regarding any type of case (Kuperman, Gardner Pryor, 2013). This system will present the information in an integrative manner so that it becomes easy for the staffs to take decisions. Medispan software can be used by the new hospital to get the support of any clinical decision (Wolterskluwercdi.com, 2017). It will help to classify different medicines based on the patient details. It is a time efficient and it can be used online. It has mobile applications that can be used for helping and assisting the clinicians to ensure the safety of the patients along with better health outcomes. MediSmart is an information management system that can be used for the enhancement of the administrative activities. This software helps in providing important information around the hospital in order to support any type of decision making process (SoftwareSuggest.com, 2017). There are several features of this software like it can electronically record the medical information and patient details. It helps in controlling the inventory. It also helps to make appointments and help in scheduling any type of work or appointments. It can carry out the management of the patients as well. The administration functions are also carried out by this system (Oliveros et al, 2014). Other important features include consultation with doctor, management of out-patient as well as the maintenance of the medical equipments. Administrator Plus can also be used for process of administration. It can cover the different ranges of management processes. It can carry out functions like patient registration, ma nagement of diagnostic as well as expense management. In the case study it has been mentioned that there is issue regarding transportation of linens by staffs. A robotic solution can be provided in this case. Aethon is known to be a robot that is autonomous (The Medical Futurist, 2017). It has the ability to carry racks and carts that can hold up to 453 grams. This can be used by the hospital to carry any types of medicines, linens, laboratory equipments as well as any types of other sensitive materials. The TUG has a touch screen mission and it can be requested or sent to carry out certain tasks. After completion of its delivery it comes back to the charging point or dock. Feasibility Study A proper feasibility study is conducted before purchasing the information systems for the new hospital. The limitations as well the benefits of the system need to be taken into account before purchasing and deploying the system in the hospital. The features of all the software needs to be verified before making the purchase decision. It is required to match the functionality with the needs of the hospital. Proper selection must be done based on the needs of the new hospital. Then the most feasible software must be purchased. Xero and Cliniko when combined, it can be accessed from anywhere over the internet, it can be updated automatically. It also gives free email as well as phone support. The Administrator Plus software will help to improve the operational efficiency of the hospital. The MediSmart software will enable the hospital to record the details in an electronic manner and save time and chances of any errors. Aethon can be used for more than fifty thousand delivery that takes place in the hospital. The information that is required in an organization cannot be handled by one person or group of people. The functionality of Medispan system helps to integrate the information and make use of integrated tools as well as intelligent databases. There are certain challenges of the information system like there will become fewer jobs available for the people. There are certain security issues in the software (Xu et al, 2014). Xero software along with Cliniko is web based and there is security issues regarding this matter. The system can get hacked and the sensitive financial data can be lost. The Aethon robotic system needs to be charged regularly that consumes a lot of energy (Laudon Laudon, 2016). Cost is another factor. In comparison to the disadvantages, the benefits are much more. Therefore the selection of the above mentioned software is perfect for the new hospital. Recommendations and Critical Success factors The New Hospital is recommended to use the above mentioned software in a tactical way for getting the appropriate results. Strong security policies must be followed and recommended in order to solve the issues regarding security. The hospital should train the staffs of the hospital to get accustomed to the new software. Proper training will help them to maintain and use the software in a proper manner. The need of the innovative software needs to be communicated in the hospital before its purchase and implementation. It is recommended that the proper maintenance of the software needs to be done. Most of the software mentioned are automatically updated so there will not be any issue regarding this. Critical success factors Accessibility: The Xero and Cliniko software can be used from anywhere as they are based on the web. Automatic update: The software has the capability to get updated in an automatic manner. Operational efficiency: The efficiency of the software plays a major role in getting success. Automatic recording: The automatic recording quality of the software acts as one of the main factors of critical success. Automatic trolley system: The Aethon TUG system can be used for the purpose of moving items in the hospital in an automatic manner. This is a success factor that is critical in nature as it saves time of the staffs and improves efficiency. Conclusion This report concludes that certain number of information systems can be used for the meeting the purpose and requirements of the New Hospital. The customer satisfaction level will improve because of the health recording and billing system will be automated. It carries out a feasibility study for the purpose of purchasing the software. It suggests that New Hospital should use Xero Cliniko, Medispan; MediSmart and Aethon system can be used for meeting its purpose. This report mentions the advantages as well as the limitations of the mentioned software. It also provides recommendations and talks about the success factors that are critical in nature.
